Today is the first day of Scooper Bowl, an all-you-can-eat ice cream extravaganza that benefits The Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. In honor of the day and in hopes to ward off the rain, I have supplied you with a recipe for home made ice cream in 5 minutes (or less, if you move really fast!)
A package of frozen fruit
1/2 c. white sugar
2/3 c. heavy cream
1 tbsp. vanilla
Step 1: Combine all of your ingredients in a blender, and mix until the fruit is fully chopped and your mixture has the texture of ice cream.Step 2: Eat.
How easy is that? This is a great recipe for experimentation – add sprinkles, nuts, or my favorite concoction, banana ice cream with coconut and chocolate chips!
